Introducing Martha Cardenas & QHealth Tips

QHealth Tips is written by Martha Cardenas, a Holistic Nutrition professional. Q Swimwear publishes it as general wellness information for swimmers. It is not medical advice — talk to your own healthcare provider before changing your diet, supplements or training.

Introducing Martha Cardenas

Martha Cardenas was born in Mexico City, and has lived in Monterrey, Mexico since 1997; she is married and mother of two beautiful young women.

She works as a professional in the field of Holistic Nutrition since 2010. She holds a bachelor's degree in food science and technology and has post graduate studies with a master's degree in Holistic Nutrition. Ms. Cardenas is certified as a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition® Practitioner, Restorative Wellness Solutions Practitioner, and Metabolic Typing® Advisor; all of which help her flourish in the field of Functional Nutrition.

With her private practice she looks to help people find answers to their health issues. She is passionate about human behavior and looking to improve her skills for working with clients, she completed a diploma in Neuroscience.

Every day she has fun analyzing the client's history to find the interrelationship between the latter, his or her signs and symptoms, and the results from their functional lab testing. Martha coaches clients to establish S.M.A.R.T. goals and follow through, always within the context of optimal health, and the reestablishment of proper body function.

Diet, rest, and exercise are the three pillars on which health is reclaimed. Holistic Nutrition acknowledges bio individuality; no two people are alike, and most always will need different approaches to the same sign or symptom.

How Martha came to swimming

Around the year 2000, Martha explored swimming to move, learn coordination, and relax. As a beginner swimmer, she took part on a Total Immersion Workshop, by Terry Laughlin, imparted by former Olympic swimmer Glenn Mills, and later became a certified coach on the Total Immersion method. For more than 14 years she helped many amateur swimmers learn how to improve their swimming or learn to swim all together.
